Women and men wash their hair on a daily basis. They brush their hair on a daily basis. And it seems that oftentimes they complain about their hair on a daily basis. Whether it’s ‘too long,’ ‘too short,’ or simply the ‘wrong color,’ it seems that hair is now considered a nuisance. You see, with so many options in today’s society, we often take many things for granted. It’s easy to forget that there are so many out there, even nearby, that are less fortunate than we are.

On July 1, 2012, Untamed Salon and Spa in Auburn, Massachusetts, hosted ‘Cuts for a Cause.’ Haircuts were “cut” down to $15 per cut and one-hundred percent of that money was donated to the Auburn Youth and Family Services. Those fortunate enough to have hair ten inches or longer, were given the option to donate their hair to Locks of Love, a program which helps create wigs for children suffering from hair loss. In addition, a can and clothing drive was set up to benefit the Auburn Youth and Family Services.
